Breast Lift

Your breasts change over time, often losing their youthful shape, fullness or firmness, and position on your chest. Pregnancy, nursing, weight gain and loss, aging and gravity can cause breasts to soften and droop. Women who are unhappy with the position or deflation of their breasts may consider having breast lift surgery, also called mastopexy. A mastopexy raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast. A breast lift can also be combined in the same surgery with a breast augmentation to improve the position and increase the size of the breasts.

During your consultation, Dr. Leslie Shock will work closely with you to develop a personalized plan that helps you achieve your desired breasts following the procedure. Your overall health and breast health will be reviewed prior to the surgery as well. For women over 35 or ones with a family history of breast ovarian cancer, this includes a baseline screening mammogram.

During the procedure, Dr. Shock will remove excess skin in order to tighten the breast skin and improve the position of the nipple. She will also reshape and reposition the breast and nipple to a more youthful position. 

Dr. Shock will determine the appropriate incision based on your unique goals. Generally, these can be a periareolar, lollipop and anchor-shaped patterns, based on the amount of lift required. Dr. Shock practices many techniques, both during and after surgery, to help improve the appearance of scarring.
