Skin Cyst / Lipoma Removal
Remove skin abnormalities with minimal scarring.
Cyst
Cysts are slow-growing, sac-like pouches that fill with various materials produced from your body and often appear as bumps when located under or within the skin. Although most cysts are benign – or non-cancerous – they can be a nuisance for frequent infections, cause discomfort and be a cosmetic concern. Cysts can usually be removed in a simple awake outpatient procedure with little to no downtime following. During the procedure, Dr. Shock will numb the area with local anesthetic and remove the cyst in its entirety, leaving only a small scar.
Lipoma
A lipoma is generally a benign collection of fat cells creating a fatty tumor that can grow anywhere on the body. Lipomas feel doughy or rubbery and typically form beneath the skin and above the underlying muscle. Some lipomas can be uncomfortable and create a cosmetic concern.
For small lipomas, Dr. Shock can remove them in a simple awake outpatient procedure with little to no downtime following. During the procedure Dr. Shock will numb the area with local anesthetic and remove the lipoma in its entirety, leaving only a small scar. Occasionally patients will have multiple lipomas and may require many to be removed at one time. During the patient’s consultation, Dr. Shock can help determine the best way to remove the lipoma(s).
