IPL
Pigmentation/Redness & Photo Rejuvination IPL
What is IPL?
Intense pulsed light (IPL) is an FDA approved, non-invasive treatment that is used to treat a wide array of skin conditions such as increased pigmentation, redness, and sun damage.
An IPL treatment uses multiple different wavelengths of light, which are released in pulses, to penetrate the layers of the skin. As the light penetrates down to the second layer of skin, it allows specific target cells to absorb its energy, heat up, and eventually destroy the pigment within the target cell.
IPL is unique in that it treats skin damage at the dermis layer without damaging the skin’s surface, thus allowing for minimal to no downtime. Treatment areas include the face, neck, chest, back, legs, arms, and hands.
What are some of the indications for IPL?
• Sun damaged skin
• Pigmented lesions (brown spots, age spots, sun spots, freckles)
• Uneven pigmentation
• Redness (rosacea & poikiloderma)
• Overall skin rejuvenation
