What is the Erbium YAG laser?
The Erbium YAG is an ablative laser used to resurface the outer layer of the skin and provide more youthful appearing skin. It is the treatment of choice for patients wanting to achieve dramatic improvement in the appearance of their skin with minimal downtime.
The Erbium laser rapidly vaporizes water residing in the skin which delivers an almost instant skin ablation (resurfacing) while limiting heat damage in the surrounding area. Each treatment is fully customizable with the ability to resurface the skin at various depths depending on patient need and desired downtime. Unlike a CO2 laser, the Erbium YAG laser is a more precise approach to targeted skin resurfacing and can be tailored to the skin depth required for effect.

Pre-Treatment:
• Cannot be performed on tanned skin. Avoid sun exposure/tanning beds for 4 weeks prior to treatment and wear a broad spectrum SPF of 30 or higher.
• Will need pretreatment with an oral anti-viral medication if history of cold sores.
